1,000 NEW FUNERALS OF SREBRENICA GENOCIDE VICTIMS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 2009

The 1995 Srebrenica genocide resulted in a mass scale ethnic cleansing of more than 25,000 people from U.N. “protected” enclave of Srebrenica, as well as summary executions of at least 8,372 Bosniaks – mostly men, boys, and elderly.
So far, 3,215 Srebrenica genocide victims have been DNA-identified and buried at the Srebrenica Genocide Memorial Center in Potocari. Additional 1,000 DNA-identified victims are scheduled to be buried on July 11.
The Srebrenica genocide was carried out in the summer of 1995 by members of the Republic of Srpska Army commanded by the indicted war criminal and a fugitive from justice, General Ratko Mladic.
That date will mark the 14th anniversary of the genocide in the town, said Munira Subašić, chairman of the Movement of Mothers from the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves Association.Furthermore, the association will hold a series of Round Tables, book promotions and other events to mark the ccasion.
